This is another game DJ game coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 later in the year called Scratch: The Ultimate DJ, and they have just released details of their controller.The Numark Scratch Deck DJ Controller is a collaboration between Genius and DJ equipment manufacturer Numark. The Numark Scratch Deck DJ Controller features a free spinning touch sensitive turntable and five Pro MPC style drum pad triggers, and a cross fader, and the controls can be switched around for left or right handed people. According to the press release, you'll actually be able to upload your own samples using a compatible USB mic if none of the pre-loaded jams get you going -- and not to worry southpaw scratchers, you can rotate the mixer to the left if that's more comfortable.

Sony unveiling a new transparent pole speaker system 'Sountina' which renders stereo sound toward all directions at the company's headquarters in Tokyo yesterday(wednesday). This system using the cylindrical tube from the entire sound of the tube around 360 degrees to spread their own "SAKURUSAUNDOSUTEJI" space music performance. The frequency response is 50Hz – 20,000Hz. Inputs include analog RCA, digital coax, optical TOS and 2 channel linear PCM (stereo). This unique speaker system featuring a woofer with amplifier at the bottom and mid-range and tweeter in a transparent acrylic tube and will go on sale on June 20. Looks cool. The Audiopad is being developed by a pair of MIT grad students, James Patten and Ben Recht in order to allow a new and unique composing experience using existing techniques. It is an application of earlier work they’ve done on new computer interfaces. Audiopad is a composition and performance instrument for electronic music which tracks the positions of objects on a tabletop surface and converts their motion into music.
The Audiopad consists of a matrix of antenna elements that track the positions of electronically tagged objects on a tabletop surface. The Audiopad software translates this positioning information into musical and graphical feedback on the tabletop, where each object represents either a musical track or a microphone.
The performer can load his own audio samples and seamlessly combine them with the samples that are pre-installed on the device. Patten and Recht reject the use of a simple touch screen or tablet PC and say that the Audiopad was designed so one can interact with the device using multiple physical objects that could be moved. According to Patten and Recht, it is much easier to interact with physical objects than with touch screens because your hands receive passive tactile feedback from the objects, helping you to move them without requiring much visual attention.
