Pure Digital released the latest in its line-up of ultra-small, ultra-affordable camcorders today with the Flip Video Mino. The Flip Mino is 40% smaller than its ubiquitous predecessor, the Flip Ultra, measuring a tiny 4” x 2” x 0.6” and weighing about 3.3 ounces. The Mino features the 1.5-inch LCD with a 528 x 132 resolution. The zoom remains a paltry 2x digital, though it doesn’t seem likely that Pure Digital will throw in a load of extra features any time soon. The Flip Mino includes built-in software. When the camcorder is plugged into a computer’s USB drive, the software automatically loads to aids the user in uploading their clips to YouTube, AOL, and now MySpace. There are six buttons handling pause/play, zoom, delete and menu navigation. While they are easy to read and fairly intuitive, they also require a bit of a extra pressure to activate. It also contains 2GB of flash memory, good for recording an hour of video. The Flip Mino is available in black or white and retails for $179.99. Now video is as easy as taking a picture.
