Hummingbird Robot
Japanese researchers at Chiba University have developed a new robotic hummingbird which can flutter freely in mid-air by rapidly moving its wings. The robot is powered by a small motor and has four wings. It can be remote-controlled through infrared. According to the developer, the robot, whose development cost has topped 200 million yen (2.1 million dollars), may be used to help rescue people trapped in destroyed buildings or search for criminals.

SCOPE - Augmented Reality Game
The next generation games has been created by France based game designer Frantz Lasorne. This game system called the SCOPE used augmented reality which combined virtual gaming with physical objects. It works by using small pieces of game that are mounted with small digital codes and it'll let the computer know what they are and where there are located. Each piece has a different code platform attached that is readable by a connected computer. By attributing various virtual parameters commonly used in video games (power, life, magic, experience, attack, weapons, etc.) to tangible toys, it brings the toys to life. Really great work. Wow..

The creation and evolution of the Solar System is estimated to have begun 4.55 to 4.56 billion years ago with the gravitational collapse of a tiny part of a giant molecular cloud. Most of the collapsing mass collected in the centre, forming the Sun, though the rest flattened into a protoplanetary disc out of which the planets, moons, asteroids, and other small Solar System bodies shaped.

This broadly accepted model, known as the nebular hypothesis, was first developed in the 18th century by Emanuel Swedenborg, Immanuel Kant, and Pierre-Simon Laplace. Its succeeding development has interwoven a variety of scientific disciplines as well as astronomy, physics, geology, and planetary science. Since the dawn of the space era in the 1950s and the discovery of extrasolar planets in the 1990s, the models have been both challenged and refined to account for latest observations.
The Solar System has evolved considerably since its earlier formation. Many moons have formed from circling discs of gas and dust around their parent planets, while other moons are believed to have formed separately and later been captured by their planets. Still others, as the Earth's Moon, may be the effect of giant collisions.
Planetary migration of Solar System
Collisions between bodies have occurred continually up to the present day and have been middle to the evolution of the solar system. The positions of the planets often shifted, as well as planets have switched places. This planetary migration now is supposed to have been responsible for much of the Solar System's early evolution.
Approximately 5 billion years, the Sun will cool and expand outward to many times its current diameter (becoming a red giant), previous to casting off its outer layers as a planetary nebula, and leaving behind a planetary corpse known as a white dwarf. In the far-away future, the gravity of passing stars step by step will whittle away at the Sun's retinue of planets. Some of the planets will be destroyed, others ejected into interstellar space. Eventually, more than the course of trillions of years, it is probable that the Sun will be left alone with no bodies in orbit around it.

Beriscope - Explore Undersea Life From Land
What do you think if you can explore undersea life from remote control? Cool huh? I think this concept is an interesting idea by designer Jaewon Choi's. Beriscope is the name given to this concept and actually it is a fishing rod that isn't for catching the critters, but instead for viewing them without ever having to enter the water yourself. I really hope that they will work on this stuff so that it can be made into an actual product because it's really cool!

Gryphon Stealth Wingsuits
A German project is working on the development of stealth wingsuits for the military called the Gryphon Next Generation Parachute System. The vision is to enable special forces to jump out of airplanes at high altitude, deploy 6-foot wings and glide 30 miles into enemy territory without being detectable by radar. The wingsuits will include a guidance system and display navigation. According to the Gryphon, they're trying to develop ways to perform landings without the aid of a parachute to overcome the obvious problem. This is sick!

I think handset manufacturers has created confusion in the mind of people. There's a lot of unique mobile phone in the market today. It is estimated that almost 300 million mobile phone units were sold and the data showed that this is a marked 6 percent increase compared to last year's numbers. .
In this era, smart phones play a significant role in our life. It is a must have gadget for everyone around the world nowadays. The power of smart phones today not only allowed us to make calls or sending text messages, we can also use it as a platform to socialize. Smart phone is everywhere but to find the quality one you can get a headache.
So, for this post, I would like to introduce you a new quality smart phone from one very popular brand LG called "LG Chocolate Touch". The unit itself is shiny and pretty thin, at just under a half an inch. As the name indicates, it is a touch screen phone and what make it different from the others is it brings a dramatically richer listening experience with Dolby Mobile technology for crystal-clear sound quality, making it the perfect companion for music lovers! It also includes an FM radio with 12 presets, audio and video content from Verizon’s VCAST, and even a "Join the Band" feature, which allows users to tap along to music on a virtual piano or drum kit. Don't you think is is much more easier your life would be to have all these application run in one system. Why should you buy an iPod if your phone can play an extra quality of sound and music? For music geek you can tweak music manually or with five presets like Flat, Bass Boost, Treble Boost, Vocal Boost or Classical. Connect a speaker or slap on some headphones, and this unit would surely take over as your main choice for mobile music.
To socialize, LG Chocolate Touch offers access to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites. A dedicated social networking shortcut key allows users to upload pictures and videos to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other social networks.
The 3.2 megapixel flashless camera seems basic, but it takes good pictures with its five different resolutions and zoom up to 1.6 times. It has three focusing modes, a self-timer, and special shot modes like Panorama and Intelligent shot. I think the photo quality is quite good overall. There are also plenty of on-screen effects and editing tools to play around with. Video playback of 3GP and WMV files was smooth and crisp; V CAST Video provides streamed, pixilated video clips and full episodes of some TV shows. I think the LG Chocolate Touch are really suitable for music junkies because it has an excellent sound quality for music and video. All and all, it's still one of a cool smart phone ever invented. Camcorder Lens Filters

After investing in a good camcorder, a sales person may suggest a lens filter for your new purchase. You wonder, are they just trying to make another sale or is there a justifiable reason for considering adding on a filter? Most of us aren't professional videographers and have no intention of producing a feature film with our camcorder, but lens filters do have a purpose even for those of us who use a camcorder only for recreational purposes.
There are many types of filters for camcorder lenses, each with their own purpose but some of the most common may be of interest to the average consumer as a way of assuring better films and protecting their investment.
Protective filters
A clear filter can be used over the lens of the camcorder to protect it from dirt, fingerprints, and other debris which may scratch or otherwise damage the lens. Replacing a damaged filter is far less expensive than replacing the lens. Using a UV lens filters can also protect against damage from ultraviolet light. Protective lenses are often attached and remain on the camcorder throughout its lifetime.
Polarizing filters
A polarizing filter can act to reduce glare caused by reflected light that bounces off of surfaces such as glass, snow, and water. These camcorder lens filters are particularly useful when filming outdoors where it can be particularly difficult to control reflective light or when shooting a film through a window.
Neutral density filters
Attaching a neutral density filter on your camcorder can help to reduce over exposure in shots as they decrease the amount of light entering the lens. The darker grey the lens filter the more light they filter out and thus the darker the resulting images in the film.
Color correction filters
There are a variety of color correction or color compensating filters that can be used to create different effects. For instance, to make a sunset more red or an ocean more blue. As these tend to be used for more creative or artistic purposes these lens filters are used less frequently by the average consumer.
Diffusion filters
Both diffusion and fog filters on a camcorder can soften images. Diffusion filters in particular are used when filming up close shots of people to flatter their faces by softening any lines or imperfections on the skin.
Although many consumers do not opt to purchase additional accessories for their camcorder, lens filters can be very useful. While some provide a very affordable alternative for protecting expensive camcorder equipment, others allow users to produce better films with less overexposure and more creative effects.

Magnetic Resonance Elastography(MRE) - A Medical Imaging Technique To Diagnose And Monitor Disease.
Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., have been working with magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), a medical imaging technique developed to non-invasively diagnose and monitor disease. The device they use, MR-Touch, uses low-frequency sound waves for just 15 seconds at the tail end of a typical MRI procedure to measure tissue elasticity. It is essentially touching the tissue through vibration instead of surgery. This could help better monitor disease progression and provide more informed preventative guidance, and kudos for making such a procedure non-invasive, much to the relief of an already beleaguered patient who has been poked and prodded all over the place.
