Wearable Electrocardiograph Using Body Area Network
Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) developed an electrocardiograph that can be worn like an accessory. The device is worn around the neck, and can monitor a patient’s pulse rate 24 hours a day. It transmits data wirelessly and along with ECG monitoring, the 20g device also measures body surface temperature and body posture. The data can even be transmitted securely using cryptographic keys dynamically generated by the patient's posture and biological data.
