Xandros announced Presto, a downloadable software-only utility that doesn't require special chipsets to quickly boot new and existing laptops and PCs up in 10 seconds or less. It is a platform that will allow users to do basic stuff like email, chat, web browsing, Skype or other applications. This is targeted to those people who are tired of waiting for the comparatively bulky Windows OS to boot. A beta version will be available from Xandros’ web site on March 16. The full version will be on sale for $19.95 on April 13.
