Moonlight - Concept Laptop With Dual Screen




The Moonlight laptop is a concept laptop that comes with duel-curved screens, the bigger measuring 16:9 and the smaller 4:3, allowing the users maintain an ideal distance between the eyes and the laptop screen to reduce eye stress. As for the frame itself, it will be sensor-controlled, lighting up in the dark. The lower display is a touch screen and can work as a mouse or run a mini OS in the background, or just as an annex of the bigger one.

Bee.One - Affordable British Electric Car?





Bee unveils the affordable Bee.One electric car. The Bee.One is set to be a five-door compact vehicle with a top speed of 80 miles per hour, a fully-charged range of 200 miles and an (impressively-sounding) constant 3G connection for system management and updates. At a suggested price-point of £12,000 once the production line starts rumbling into life at some point in 2011, the Bee.One is going to be one to keep our eyes on over the coming year.

Abu Dhabi Driverless Transport System



Masdar Rapid Transit "Podcars" will be fully operational in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s later in the year, according to Systemica, the designers of the hi-tech personal rapid transit system (PRT). The "Podcars", which look like cars, but are fuelled by solar power, seat six passengers and will run 6m beneath Masdar City at speeds of up to 7m/sec. In Masdar City, where the streets will be entirely free of automobiles, a network of these compact electric taxis will provide clean and quiet transportation to the city’s residents, as well as commuters.

Epson X-Desk - Interactive Table



Check out this new touch-sensitive interactive coffee table in town called the "X-Desk". Developed by Epson, interactive projection media firm Impressx and design development engineers Engage, X-Desk is based around a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB hard drive. An ATI HD 4850 graphics card is also on-board and the integrated speakers can pump out 80W of sound. Users can play around with the X-desk which supports 1024X768 resolutions, has 3LCD projectors to project those images on the surface, along with a sublime capacity of recognizing 16,000 objects simultaneously, courtesy gesture recognition technology and ‘Smart Tag’. With memory capacities of 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB hard drive, the X-Desk using FireWire, USB ports and Bluetooth can be connected with portable devices and is customizable.

Segway partnered up with GM to develop a cool prototype vehicle called Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility(
PUMA) .The 300-pound prototype runs on a lithium-ion battery and uses Segway's characteristic two-wheel balancing technology, along with dual electric motors. It's designed to reach speeds of up to 35 miles-per-hour and can run 35 miles on a single charge.

CB2 - Child-Robot with Biomimetic Body



Researchers from Osaka University’s Graduate School of Engineering unveiled a robot that acts like a human infant, which they hope may one day help scientists better understand the child development process. CB2 is a prototype research robot; the intent is to provide roboticists with additional experience so they can create even more lifelike machines. When CB2’s shoulders are tapped, it blinks as if surprised, stops moving, and turns its gaze toward the person who touched it, and when a toy is dangled in front of its eyes, it appears to devote all its energy to trying to reach for it.
