A Bluetooth-enabled stethoscope that wirelessly transfers heart, lung and other body sounds to software for further analysis has been developed by 3M Health Care recently. This new stethoscope reduces background noise by 85% while still allowing the doctor to hear the critical body sounds they need to hear.The stethoscope's software allows physicians to save records and send them electronically to colleagues for second opinions. I hope that it will help enhance clinicians’ natural abilities. The Littman Electronic Stethoscope retails for $379 each.
