CD Ripper Software
There are advanced CD ripper software as well, which allows you to convert back and forth between these formats. You can also get software that can record vinyl LPs and cassettes to create those same audio files for your computer.
You can get a variety of ripper software programs online by searching the internet. Most software is user friendly and offers you a variety of options. You should however, do some searching and comparing before you decide which CD ripper program is best for your needs.
Each type of CD ripper software will offer it's own style and interface. You should always make sure the CD ripper software you choose is easy to use and easy to understand. It doesn't matter how good the software is - if you can't use it.
When you explore the options of CD ripper software, make sure you also check the software's editing abilities. With most programs, you can select the output format for the music. This will include the bitrate, channels, and even the frequency.
Quality ripper programs will also tag the encoded audio files with medadata, which will contain information about the artist, song title, track number, and even the album title. This will automatically be input for the file.
Another great feature with some ripper programs is the ability to delete the silence at the beginning or end of song tracks. Some programs will even give you the ability to edit the songs themselves, giving you full control of the sound provided by your files.
For those who enjoy to listen to their music from a CD, a CD ripper can also be used to select your favorite songs and create a mixed CD. Some rippers will even let you rip audio tracks directly from a CD then burn them to a new CD - without having to save them as a new audio file.
With millions of people ripping CDs these days, CD ripping is the wave of the future. You no longer have to keep your music on your computer, as you can rip them to a CD or even put them in your favorite MP3 player and take the music with you - wherever you go.

Even Bill Gates Likes Free Software
Linux can save your business money. Powerful Linux applications power servers, desktops and laptops across enterprises and small businesses each day. Here in our business, our websites are open source, our support module is Linux, the CRM application and the Accounting system we use to run our business is open source software. Best of all our Linux tools, operating systems and applications, are all freely distributed. Linux people are different. They search for power and function, but that is not all sought. Linux people believe that software should be freely distributed. The Linux community respects Microsoft; fantastic company whose apps like Office have improve millions of lives, really cool. But the dark secret in Linux circles paints Microsoft as a dinosaur, Linux people believe that expensive software with painful upgrade fees is headed for trouble.
Bill Gates Sees a "Sea Change" in Application Software
Microsoft sells operating systems and applications, and keeps on selling them. Backward compatibility with applications like Word can be hard and is this pain is by design. Microsoft wants to create pain and then fix, with upgrades. Microsoft wants upgrade dollars. This software model is starting to collect some rust. And the reason for this: free software is good. Free software is now available; free business applications to run your business, which are maintained, supported and best of all, are freely distributed. Bill Gates’s vision has focused on the on-line delivery model and even the free application delivery model.
Linux Distributions are a Personal Choice
Linux is built in distributions or releases, all slightly different. Ubuntu, a terrific linux distribution, is so good that it may be nudging Windows off desktops. Ubuntu is easy to deploy and easy to use plus it is loaded with applications for home users and business users. The Ubuntu desktop market share numbers are still viewed with a magnifying glass, but not too long ago, you needed a microscope. Ubuntu is easy to install and easy to use. Just get the software at the website and burn a CD. Ubuntu has just one CD or one ISO which loads in a snap. Red Hat, another distribution has 6 and takes much longer to complete. Ubuntu is lean because after the initial setup the user can craft his Ubuntu system just how he likes. The internet has Ubuntu distribution sites that power a tool called apt-get. All you do is apt-get install from a command line or user the Add Software GUI tools and you are getting the best linux apps right off the shelf and put right into your menu.
Ubuntu Distribution
The Ubuntu distribution has an Office suite with word processing, a spreadsheet, and presentation modules. All work can be saved in common formats like .doc or xls and are completely compatible with Microsoft products. The base Ubuntu application is loaded with graphics applications, CD, DVD burning and creation, multi-media including music and movie players, back-up apps, powerful anti-virus tools and networking applications that are best of breed. There is built in VOIP and message clients and many cool apps like Sticky Notes to make you more efficient.
Free Business Linux Applications
GNU Cash, free financial tracking, similar to Quicken. Cut an invoice, track bank accounts, run a budget and report your cash flow. Import your bank files and create buckets of spend for your financial analysis that will make an accountant jealous.
PBX and Phone Systems
Elastix will power up your phones. Did you know that most PBX commercial software is run using a freely distributed tool called Astericks. Elastix has re-packaged Astericks to ease the deployment and offers support. Expensive PBXs are not necessary. Linux has adapted other telephony tools like VOIP, predictive dialers, and call center solutions.
Do you need a content management system? A website or an intranet for your company. Plone, Drupal, Joomla deliver big. The functionality in these freely distributed tools match the priciest CMS software. The tools are supported and you can even buy how to books at your local bookstore.
Customer Relationship Management and CRM
How about sales tools, CRM or order management, even inventory management software? Full power CRM or customer relationship management tools are available for free or for super low prices. DataForceCRM, based in Dallas, is deploying a sugarcrm linux derivative that has been enhanced and strengthened and customers are shaving 80% off typical user fees. DataForceCRM offers wikis, forums, full documentation and will make sure user adoption is high. The tool is super flexible, has Outlook integration, manages marketing, tracks sales, eyeballs inventory, push button order management, gives customers’s a support tool and is Freely distributed to companies with less than 10 users. If your business has over 10 users, prices are still a bargain.
Companies pay high prices for customer support modules. OTRS, another open source backbone application in commercial applications, is there for the download and configuration. After set up your business will have a fully featured, professional trouble ticket tracker helping your clients get what they need.
Virtualization is taking IT departments by storm. Virtualization turns your single computer, you need some memory, into many virtual machines. This streamlines hardware usage and turns hard ware utilization way up. State of the art Virtualization called Xen comes with many linux distributions. In Ubuntu do apt-get install vmware-server and a fine tool is on its way to your machine.
The coolest thing about Linux is that in the 30 minutes I took to write this article, more applications were probably released. Sourceforge.net, a depository for linux tools is one of the busiest sites on the internet and full of Linux value added applications. Just yesterday I needed to edit a PDF. I google up pdfnet and there I went, for free. Very cool, ERP, or enterprise resource planning is free too. Linux support was targeted for genius level IQs but not any longer.
Conclusion
Companies realize good training and support drives value. Applications, even if free, are expensive if the learning curve is steep and if users are not guide. Smart open source companies are rolling out support modules to all service all learning types, wikis, live chat, forums, documentation and live phone contacts. Now with support in place, training available communities grow and grow. The applications I mentioned hit the tipping point where the user community is user support. Just this morning I was stumped with a virtual machine question. I googled the error code and added for Ubuntu. The page came up faster than I could call support, and the answer was clearly defined. Cool.
New technology can be daunting to learn and use. The linux world knows this and just in the last few years, has put strong arms around user friendliness. Opensource software is easy to deploy, easy to use, powerful and supported. I just covered a tiny fraction of applications available today. Just for fun, visit the sites in this article. Check out the super cool applications and then put a number to your potential savings. You may become a Linux Geek.

What Is SSID?
SSID, the shortened form of Service Set Identifier, is the network name of a wireless LAN system. This system picks up all transmissions of wireless communication, but only allows for the communication of two or more signals that share the same service set identifier number. All of the computers of the network must know and have the same SSID number on file in order to access the WLAN service, but knowing the numbers does not mean that an individual is able to use that WLAN service if he or she is not actually part of that network. The service set identifier number is most often found on the top of each transmission that is sent throughout the network. This generally can lead to service and safety concerns as there are people who can intercept this case sensitive number. This then can lead to them trying to access the network and share in the internet service or other files on the computers. For a business, this can be very dangerous with their potential competition being some of those who would wish to know their information. For individuals, this is dangerous because many individuals keep their financial data on the computer and this then can be accessed and their accounts stolen.
Methods that are being used to limit the chances of the SSID number of falling into the wrong hands include programs that limit the types of documents that the SSID number is displayed on. This helps somewhat since there are still programs and documents that require the SSID number to be visible for sending and communication. Other methods of protecting the SSID number is to consistently change the number, but this is difficult because then each computer must have the SSID number changed which means the widespread hand out of the SSID number to the employees and the chances that it might again fall into the wrong hands.
The final method of handling SSID numbers and security is to attach an additional password that is for each individual. This method limits the chances of one actually accessing both the service set identifier number and a password. This method is gaining popularity from those businesses with newer computers and a newer service provider and SSID.

How To Choose A Camera With The Right Number of Mega Pixels?
As with many other things when it comes to mega pixels more is not necessarily better. There are many considerations when buying a camera and the number of mega pixels is just one of them. One of the most important things to consider is usage. More mega pixels are good for people who plan to print photos (especially enlargements) or for people who need to zoom in and grab fine details from a big photo. If the main usage of the photos is watching them on your computer screen and maybe printing a few 4X6 prints than 2 mega pixels is more than enough (yes… just 2). Most screen resolutions are 1024X768 so even when viewing the photo in full screen mode you can only view 1024X768 <>
If you plan to use your photos for enlargements than a rule of thumb is to be able to print at least 300DPI resolution. The following is a table for different print sizes and the needed mega pixels for such print quality:
page 4X6 2MP
page 5X7 3MP
page 8X10 7MP
page 11X14 14MP
page 16X20 28MP
page 20X30 54MP
Another practical consideration is price and budget: Usually the more mega pixels the more expensive the camera is. Unless your budget is infinite when buying a camera you make a compromise between mega pixels and other features. For example is it better to spend money on more mega pixels or on better lenses? Or maybe instead of getting the latest number of mega pixels get an external flash for low light photography? When buying a camera try to predict what and how you will use it. In many cases a lower mega pixels sensor with better a lens will result in a much better photo than a high mega pixels with an inferior lens. Shop around and make sure that you get the best package in terms of mega pixels and other features.
To conclude when shopping for a camera it is best not to be a victim of the mega pixels race. Although it is generally a good thing to have a high number of pixels there are many other factors that influence the quality of the photos taken and the choice of the right camera for you. Lenses, battery life, light sensitivity, sensor technology used, external flash and many other features are not less important as the number of mega pixels. When shopping for a camera make sure that you consider the whole package and not use the number of mega pixels as a “quality” indicator for your buy.

How To Compare Wireless Phone Plans?
Shopping around for a new wireless phone plan and confused by all of the choices available? Well, you’re not alone. Choosing a cellular phone plan has become a daunting task due to the fact that there are not only a million choices, but cell phone carriers are making it more difficult with tricky and confusing plan restrictions. In this article, I’m going to go over some really easy steps that you can follow to compare wireless phone plans so that you make the best choice possible. Hopefully by the time you’re done reading this, you’ll be armed with the knowledge necessary to run out and stick it to the man!
The first thing that you need to look at when comparing cell phone plans is the coverage area provided by the carrier. If you’re going to be traveling outside your immediate area on business for instance, you need a phone plan that has adequate coverage nationwide. If you’re only going to be using the phone inside of your local town or city, then make note of this and see if there are cheaper alternatives with scaled down coverage maps to save yourself some money.
The second thing that you need to take into consideration are the minutes alloted in a plan and what happens when you run over those included minutes. If this is your first cell phone, you’re most likely going to use way more minutes than you estimate so keep this in mind when making a choice.
The third factor that you need to consider when trying to compare wireless phone plans is length of contract. Most cellular carriers lock their customers into 2 or 3 year contracts and breaking a contract can cost hundreds of dollars in penalties. This is definitely something to be aware of when you’re shopping around for a new phone.
I hope that this article has given you some good guidelines to follow as you’re trying to make the best choice on your next cell phone purchase. I wish you the best and remember to shop around before making a commitment!

How To Choose Digital Video Equipment?
In this case we are in the market for digital video equipment, and you have several ways to go about finding it. You can go into town and visit some retailers and view the various brands firsthand. You will have to listen to the various sales pitches of course, but you may also get lucky and find some knowledgeable staff.
The main problem with this approach is finding an unbiased dealer, as obviously a dealer who is affiliated with a certain brand of digital video equipment is going to extol the virtues of that brand at the expense of other possibly equally good brands.
My preferred option is to find review sites on the net, of which there are many. The best are the independent review sites and the sites which contain user reviews, the latter especially should have no hidden agendas, as their opinions are based on their own personal experiences. If you take this route be prepared for a lot of surfing the net and a lot of reading. You can cut it down a bit by going to sites such as http://cnet.com which provide a lot of prices and information.
Another route is to have a look at the various consumer magazines, which usually list some of their review information online, or of course you could always subscribe for a month or two. These publications should prove to be totally unbiased in their product reviews, and as such are a good source of information on all manner of consumer goods.
In summary, I would say the wise option would be to do your research online, make a shortlist, then go down town and see the item in the flesh. If you can not get a good price and a good warranty in town, go back to your computer and buy your digital video equipment online.

Editing HD Video
Keep in mind that you need a powerful computer with a lot of memory to deal with the extra data and compression. Pinnacle for example, recommends a minimum 512 MB of RAM and a graphics card with 128 MB of RAM for standard resolution video, although that goes up to a GB of RAM and a 256 MB graphics card when working with 1080i HD video.
You can find plenty of software available that supports editing high definition videos. For example, the latest versions of Pinnacle Studio and Ulead Media Studio 8 can import and edit files in HDV format.
Even though the high definition video with these types of looks great when played back on an HDTV, at the present time is there is no way store HD video on a DVD. The only way you can store HD video for playback is on your PC or the same type of media you used in your HD camcorder.
There is however, a new generation of high definition optical media format coming soon. Products that are based on the HD-DVD and Blu-ray disc formats are very expensive, and they will remain that way for the near future.
HD-DVD players were announced a while back that they will cost $500 and up, and will be available very soon. You'll also need one of the new HD-DVD drives to write to the disc, which will cost as much again. You can expect the same story with the Blu-ray disc, as both the recorders and the players are going to be expensive for a while to come.
There is one other option as well. There is a DVD player from KISS, the DP-600, which can play back high definition files that have been compressed to Microsoft's Windows Media 9 format. This can at least provide a stop gap until the price of the HD-DVD and Blue-ray disc players and writes come down to an affordable price.
You can always play back the recorded video you have through the camcorder itself, although you shouldn't expect to be able to write it out on a disc with the current available equipment and preserve its quality. If you wait it out, the new generation of available media will be everything you need for your HD video.

Hard Drive Recovery
by : Alan
For almost all of us, computer has become an essential part of life. Thus anything that is troublesome on the computer, especially whenever a file is deleted is will affect our mind. Those who are unfortunate even may have lost the entire hard drive. But whatever happens, hard drive recovery is always there to aid us to retrieve the lost data as well as the damaged hard drive.
Hard drive is usually a procedure in which whenever the entire hard drive fails due to factors like problems in the application program, a virus attack to the system, or any other related work as well as deliberate operation of a human Though hard drive recovery is not cut shortened to restoring the hard drive, it will also include getting back the lost files, making hard disk drive retrieval appropriate for the people who have lost the essential data on their hard drives accidentally or else the people who have corrupted the hard drive or formatted them.
What happens to data recovery of the hard drive is nothing but data that remains back. The process is called data remnants, which actually means that some form of information still exists on the hard drive even after the deletion of the data. So let us not have the misconception that, once the data is gone its gone forever. This is not the proper idea, as hard disk drive recovery would become impossible.
While data remnants is very useful to recovery of hard disk drive, there is also some negative aspect to this method which lies on the fact that data remnants is one of the most suitable tools used in cyber spying. This is in no manner the reason that most wise people or the security experts tell that simply deleting the data doesn't always fully erase the file.
Hard drive recovery of the file is nothing but reconstructing the data that is lost. The data will be constructed again through the recovery of hard disk drive, no matter whether the files were erased or are not accessible due to rammed hard drive. Some cases are there where hard disk drive is not accessible because of the ramifications on the hardware. One among the case is whenever the actual arm, whenever the tiny mechanical arm shifts back and forth across the disk drive may have endured the mechanical error.
So instead of giving hopes that there is no recovery process for hard drive to recover the files, thus neglecting hard disk drive recovery, first we need to get to know that the data is not lost at all and there are remedies for it. Only problem is the data is not accessible for the time being, which may be called as mechanical error and along with the hard drive recovery process, you can retrieve the files that are lost.
Another important part to note is that though the circuitry board develops errors which attacks the operations of the hard disk, recovery of hard drive is still possible .You need to know the fact that before deal with any hard disk drive recovery process, if there are peculiar noises or no noise the reason for its failure may be considered as mechanical. In order to fix the problem, the hard disk drive recovery expert will merely dismantle the hard drive.
But there are some cases even though the mechanical problem may cause the hard drive to get damaged, which ends in affecting the data stored on it. Whatever be the case, the hard disk drive recovery is suitable.
