Tips On Replacement Battery for a Smart UPS 1500

Post by: Mike Bielski

A lot of consumers are confused about picking a replacement battery for a Smart UPS 1500. Everyone wants a long lasting high quality battery and everyone wants to save money at the same time. There has to be a happy medium.

So the battery on your APC Smart-UPS 1500 needs to be replaced, the red light to replace battery is on and the unit won’t stop beeping. You start looking online but with so many options you are not sure where to go. Here are some of the main factors you should be looking for when shopping for a smart ups 1500 replacement battery.

You want to make sure that you are buying a brand new battery. Do not buy used batteries or refurbished. There is no such thing as a refurbished battery. SLA batteries cannot be refurbished, don’t be fooled and ripped off.

Also, do not buy used batteries as their life time is not guaranteed and they will not provide you with reliable performance. Make sure the battery you are buying is brand new and fresh stock.

Make sure the lifespan of the battery is 3-5 years. Some vendors will sell cheaper batteries and will not mention the life span. They do this because those batteries have a life span of 6-12 months, then they go bad and need to be replaced again. You don’t want to buy those batteries. The battery you buy should have a life span of 3-5 years with normal use.

Keep an eye out for length of warranty. Some vendors will sell you a cheap battery but when it comes time to claim the warranty, they are nowhere to be found. Buy a battery with a one year full replacement warranty. That way, if something goes wrong with the battery and it prematurely wears out, you are taken care of.

When it comes to batteries for your APC Smart-UPS 1500, you don’t want to take risks. Make sure you get high quality batteries that will ensure your unit always performs at peak performance. Your batteries should provide a long runtime and give you peace of mind knowing you are protected.

Eye-Fi Wireless SD Memory Card - Say Goodbye To Cables!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Eye-Fi. All opinions are 100% mine.

Today, many people can be noticed sharing a common interest of capturing the cherished moments of their lives. Either on the social network sites like Face book or photo sharing sites like Flickr. Its human nature to socialize and one always wishes to stay in touch with his loved ones. Everybody wants to share the beautiful memories or incidents of their lives with friends and family members.

Recently when I want to upload my photos, something bad happens. I can't upload my photos with my USB cable and because of my carelessness the cable had broken. For me, it sucks when you want to share and promise something with someone but you can't deliver it. The solutions, I have to buy a new USB cable for my digital camera and before buying a new cable I need to search it on the Net for the price.

Today when I search the Net, I found an interesting gadget that makes my eyes pop. Eye-Fi is the name given to this cool gadget. Actually it is a wireless SD memory card for your camera that uses Wi-Fi technology to automatically upload your photos to Webshots. On the simple words, it transforms your digital camera into an instant wireless uploading system. To put it simply, it lets you say good-bye to cables and long upload waits, and hello to getting your photos up on Webshots faster and timelier. This is what I need!
It will work with any digital camera that has the SD slot. The Eye-Fi automatically backs up and organizes your photos and videos on your computer in date-based folders. Not only that, it can also upload your photos directly to over 25 online photo sharing websites and it takes care of re-sizing, too. All you need is a Secure Digital High Capacity(SDHC) capable camera and a wireless router. I think the best part about the Eye-Fi card, though, is how easy it is to use as you can watch from the video below. Hey Santa, send me one on Christmas morning ok!

Renault Zoe ZE Concept - Spa In A Car?

Renault has joined forces with cosmetics maker Biotherm to create the Zoe Z.E. electric car concept. The car is sporting a climate control system that is similar to a spa. The Zoe ZE concept is the first to offer a glimpse to what future in-car comfort technologies would be like. According to Renault, the Zoe's climate control system is worthy of installation in one of Paris finest spas. Air conditioning can really dry out skin, which is why Biotherm redesigned the Zoe's AC to focus on keeping air cool and hydrated. If you get stuck behind a bus belching diesel fumes, the on-board toxicity sensor closes the car's air vents before free radicals destroy your healthy complexion. The vehicle's roof doesn't just serve to protect the passengers from the heat and cold, it also optimizes climate control performance by recovering energy via its honeycomb photovoltaic cells.

LeapFish - The "Living Web"

"Living Web" is what Leapfish call their new multimedia and real-time search, communication, and sharing platform that gives consumers a very convenient, fun, and personalized way to experience the traditional and real-time Web. For me, it is one of the fastest search engine which empowers consumers with the ability to manage the two things they do most often online - "search" and "share". This is all I can say right now. If you don't believe me, you can try by yourself. Not only fast, the LeapFish search engine allow you to easily see different search engine results pages from Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Makes it very easy to compare results. I have try their search engine and it's really offer me as a consumers an advanced customizable personal homepage, a real-time search engine, more multi-media results from the entire Web and the ability to share any piece of content found online. As you can see in the picture below, I type a keyword "Tech Planet" for web search, and that is the result I've received from their engine. My blog is number 4 from the keyword "Tech Planet". Nice one! hehe.

According to LeapFish, "the inspiration behind their search engine has been the opportunity to provide an answer to the information overload and the fragmentation of accessibility that is naturally occurring online today. If relevancy, the currently defined search formula, continues to be limited by the virtual real estate allotted by page 1 of the major search engines, then the variety and accessibility of the breadth of the web is being lost in the information overload. LeapFish works to capture this variety in a new multidimensional, and now instantaneous, click-free search interface."

Features :

Real-Time Search Engine: A fresh multi-media real-time search engine capturing results from all containers of real-time content (e.g., Twitter, Youtube, Twitpic, Flickr).

Searching and Sharing: Easy and convenient sharing features empowering users to merge traditional content into the social and real-time Web as they search and find content anywhere online (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Digg).

Variety of the Web: Delivering rich multi-media content from the deep and wide new Web via integration of leading authorities in website aggregation, videos, images, news, blogs, tweets and much more on every search query (e.g., Youtube, CNN, Twitter).

Personal Internet Dashboard: Technically advanced customizable personal homepage allowing consumers to build their own dashboard to the Internet by adding multiple news feeds, blogs, applications, tools and more (e.g., Facebook Application, Twitter Application, Mashable Feed)

At the moment, it looks like it's pulling all its results from Twitter only. I hope that they will include the aggregation of other social tools and I'm sure they are working on this too. Overall LeapFish.com is not that bad if we give them a chance to "show off". Anyway, for your info, LeapFish is conducting private demos prior to the highly anticipated launch, if interested please email demo@leapfish.com. Give them a try and tell me what you think about it.

Honda displayed its EV-N concept, an all electric plug-in car, at the 41st Tokyo Motor Show 2009. It is a microcompact with a short wheelbase and seating for four passengers. This small, battery-powered car has a solar roof and a swappable seat fabric system. There is even space for a U3-X robo-unicycle in the passenger-side door. Most importantly, the EV-N's passenger door contains one of those bizarrely kickass UX-3 super gyroscopic robot unicycles, which pretty much makes the EV-N the coolest electric car of all time.

PrintBrush - World's Smallest Printer Device

The PrintBrush is a real product, not a concept and it can print an A4 size, in black and white, at up to 600dpi resolution. It uses Bluetooth and rechargeable batteries to print without any wires whatsoever. It is also capable of printing on any flat surface of your choice, which includes letters and fabric. This is made possible thanks to a built-in accurate optical sensor that can also detect tilt, rotation and translation. All I can say that the PrintBrush will be by far the smallest printer device in the world which can print full size formats. It will hit the market from early next year onwards for a price of $199. You can watch the demo of PrintBrush here.
