Are You The XML Superstar?

To allow Web pages to be structured for automated processing, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) developed an enhancement to HTML. The result were two new languages; one was XSL (extensible Style Language), and the other was XML (extensible Markup Language), a system for defining, validating, and sharing document formats on the Web.

XML is best known to many bloggers as RSS (Rich Site Summary/Really Simple Syndication), which is actually a lightweight XML format used to share headlines and blog feeds. XML is fairly straightforward to use, once you understand its structure. It is a platform-independent way to represent data. Simply put, XML enables you to create data that can read by any application on any platform. You can even edit and create it by hand, because it is based on the same tag-based technology that underlies HTML. It also provides several different methods by which you can control the structure, and even the content, of your data. Once you begin to use XML, you'll also have questions about the best way to design your XML structures, but it doesn't have to be a complicated process.

If you are a developers or a newbies who wants to sharpen your skills on XML, XQuery and DB2, I have a good news for you. You have a chance to win an awesome prize and expose yourself to become an XML superstar from this awesome IDUG contest. This contests has five separate tracks for individuals based on their skill level. It is a Video Contest, Gadget Contest, XQuery Contest, Port an Application, Develop an Application. You can choose any of these track or all of these tracks based on your skill level. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges from IBM and the local universities. So grab this great opportunity to sharpen your knowledge and maybe you could win the awesome prizes. Make your first move now and good luck to you.

Wii Fitness Game

The Wii console fitness game is one of the neatest programs that have been released from this manufacturing family, and it is also one that offers families a new way to become active. The whole set is available for under a hundred dollars, which is less than three months fee at a traditional gym. If you want to tone up, or even learn yoga, then this game may be the one for you.

What is the Balance Board?

Basically, the balance board is equipped with sensors that can track your movement, calculate your weight and determine your fitness age based on your balance skills. The balance skills are part of the main section of the game, and you can practice these as often as you want to figure out a new fitness age each day. You will use the balance pad for all of the exercises on the game, making it a necessary part of the package.

What Are the Exercises?

There are many different exercises that you can choose from on this program, including yoga, aerobics, jogging, hula hoop and meditation. The sheer variety of exercises allows any member of your family to participate, from the youngest to the oldest. Your progress can be tracked in the game, and you can even use the activity log to enter in other activities, such as vacuuming or taking a walk.

Benefits of the Wii Console Fitness Game

If you have been looking for a way to add some basic exercises into your day, but have not had the time to join a gym, then this product is definitely what you are looking for. The main focus of the game is to maintain your current fitness levels, but it can also help anyone who is seriously out of shape reach a point where they are ready for more intensive exercises.

Also, the yoga and meditation are both exercises that have long been honored for their stress relieving properties. If you want to learn yoga, this is a very inexpensive way to do so. Lastly, the game is designed for families to use together, so that health becomes more of a priority in the household. Spending time with the family exercising may just be the boost you need to get outdoors and get active with your family, rather than spending your afternoon on the sofa.

If you are using this program to lose weight, or you have health issues, you may want to talk to your doctor before you begin. Your doctor can explain some of the concepts that are used in the game, such as what body mass index is, and what your weight to height ratio should be. Toning up with the program carries no health risks for healthy people, but for some, it is best to talk to a professional.

The one caution is that the balance board only holds up to 330 pounds, so if you are over that weight the game will not be of much use to you.

Finger Touching - The Wearable Mobile Device

Designed by Sunman Kwon, this is The Finger Touch concept phone, and as you can see it has a Samsung logo on it. A very unique concept of all the phone concepts I've seen. The keypad is projected from the round part of the actual device onto your hand, while your fingers act as the keypad.

Description from the designer,

"A wearable mobile device for enhanced chatting. It introduces a new wearable device that anyone can communicate with that is easier and lighter in mobile circumstances corresponding to the 3.5G, 4G communication standard. Human hand is the most basic communication method. For easier and simpler controls, it uses the instinctive input method “finger joint”. Excluding the thumb, each finger joint makes up twelve buttons, with “the knuckle button”, using the cell phone's 3X4 keypad, likely being the most popular input method".

Guitar Hero 3 - Play The Guitar Using Drumsticks??

If you have ever tried to play the guitar using drumsticks, you were probably drinking the paint thinner, because it's impossible. Unless you are playing with Guitar Hero 3. Check out video below.

Police Gear

Policemen or Law enforcers are employed agents that enforce the law and social order through the use of legitimized forces. In certain jurisdictions, police officers are allowed to carry firearms. They have non-lethal equipments that are primarily used for controlling riots. These equipments would include batons, rubber bullets as well as electro-shock weaponry. The usage of guns is basically the last resort. Officers also carry with them handcuffs in order to restrain their suspects. Handcuffs have also become varied. These days, cops have a variety of handcuffs. Although there are still stainless and metal cuffs, a special plastic or nylon type of restraints have become a more common variation.

In modern countries, the government has a large budget for their police force. They make use of radio communications that are installed in cars. There are also computers that are installed in the police cars.

Police gear is fundamental to daily police life. Without this equipment, our streets would be a more dangerous place. The gear that can be found in many outlets can be of a high quality and includes belt equipment such as pouches, holders and belts as well as police apparel including trousers, shirts, base layers, outer layers and boots. There are many other necessary pieces of kit such as ASP batons, police torches and handcuffs and keys.

Digital Photo Recovery

The progress in the field of data storage has gone amazingly far in just a decade. Younger users these days have no idea what a floppy disk looks like and how to use it. Neither do they know how unreliable these little plastic squares were and how often they failed in the most inappropriate moments - after spending a couple of minutes lying on a speaker, after a long subway ride or any encounter with a strong magnetic field. This was the time when we worried more about getting our information from A to B than speed, capacity and ease of use.

Today, the abundance of high-speed and spacious portable media of all kinds - and, first and foremost, flash cards - in an average household increases the chances of data loss by a weighty factor. These troubles most often happen to flash cards that are actively used, mostly the ones in digital cameras.

The data on these cards are often deleted and rewritten; the cards themselves can be pulled out while the camera is still on and can be used with various card readers on various computers. All these factors increase the odds of damaging your photos and videos - seemingly beyond recovery. However, the great thing about today's file systems is that files are never physically deleted (but only marked as deleted) and there is always a good chance to get your photos back quickly with the help of specialized photo recovery tools, given that no new files have been written into the same area of your memory card.

If you face data loss problems from time to time or just want to be protected from such accidents in the future, you should check out one of such tools - for instance, at PickyFiles.com.

This compact application is so simple and easy to use that even a child or a complete rookie can restore lost photos from any media in seconds. Now you won't have to look for a specialized data recovery service when you are on a tropical island (given that the odds of finding such a service in a remote location are close to nil) and face a data corruption problem. Just use your laptop or a computer in your hotel's lobby to quickly and painlessly recover what you thought was lost. This handy application is always with you and will help you restore photos with a minimum of efforts and expenses, so it's wise to have it with you whenever you go on a flash drive or a CD. The software meticulously analyzes the structure of your memory card and detects segments that have been marked as deleted or corrupted. Once the analysis process is complete, the application attempts to recover as much as it can - and succeeds in the majority of cases. There is hardly an easier way to recover lost files, restore deleted photos and fix flash cards! As mentioned before, the software makes no distinction between the types of media you are working with - it works with portable hard drives, USB drives, flash memory cards of all formats and sizes with equal efficiency.

If looking for an ultimate remedy for the problem of recovering deleted photos and files from portable media - and specifically camera memory cards - make sure to check out PickyFiles.com. It has everything you need to face this problem with a relaxed grin!
